The Philadelphia Women’s Theatre Festival (PWTF) returns for its fifth year this week. Dedicated to creating more opportunities for women in theater, PWTF aspires to make sure both new and prospering voices are heard in Philadelphia, allowing them to share unique perspectives and untold stories by women for all.
PWTF is at the forefront of honoring the value of women’s contributions to storytelling, artistic advancement and creative innovation. By building a community of diverse artists through the culmination of a citywide celebration, PWTF believes that Philadelphia will become a national leader in recognizing the valuable influence women play in the arts.
To commemorate their 5th anniversary and commitment to centering the voices of women, female-identifying, trans, and nonbinary individuals, this year's festival theme is “This is OUR Philadelphia,” and runs from August 1 to August 4! The festival will feature original works from several local playwrights, as well as a Young Audiences Studio, for family-friendly works. The festival is designed to both showcase women playwrights, and honor the influential women who have shaped the city.
Don't miss out on an opportunity to support an organization dedicated to creating safe, diverse, spaces for women in theater!
