Ghosts and Star Gazing at Bowman's Tower, Washington Crossing Park

Friends of Washington Crossing Park

Where:
off Lurgan Road Washington Crossing PA 18977
When:
  • Saturday October 23rd 2010
Gather at the base of Bowman’s Hill Tower and carefully watch for the ghostly figures of Continental soldiers in the shadows of the hillside. Listen to a reading of Edgar Allen Poe’s, The Cast of Amontillado. Hear the history of the Tower and its beginning construction on Oct. 23, 1929.  Then enjoy one of the rare night tours of Bowman’s Tower as an astronomer guides you around the night sky. An historian, harpist and juggler will entertain you as you wait to ascend the tower. Local author, Jack Repchek, will be available to discuss his book, Copernicus’ Secret. Tour guides will assist you as you climb the 23 steps from the elevator to reach the top and gaze out over the countryside in the moonlight. Food is available for a donation.  Attendants will direct you to on-site parking.

Presented by the Friends of Washington Crossing Park for your entertainment and to celebrate the year construction began on Bowman’s Tower. Volunteers most welcome.
