  • The Temperance House

    Where
    5 S. State Street Newtown PA 18940
The tradition of “The Temperance House” began in 1772, when soldier and scholar Andrew McMinn first opened the Inn. Union General Francis Murray made the Inn his lodging during the Revolutionary times, and the site became a gathering spot for those fighting for the colonists’ cause.  Today, the freshest seafood, meats and local produce create the basis for an outstanding menu. House specialties are prime rib and lobster.... an American classic. Dinners & lunches are served daily.  11 beautifully decorated rooms are available. Each room has it's own bath. Please inquire for more information.
