The Wings date back to the first season of pro indoor lacrosse, which was the Eagle Pro Box Lacrosse League (later renamed Major Indoor Lacrosse League) in 1987. They have traditionally battled for professional indoor lacrosse bragging rights, both record and attendance-wise. Their success shows no signs of ending with the packed houses they continue to play to in the state-of-the-art Wachovia facility and young stars continuing to rise.
