    Tamanend Park

    Where
    1255 2nd Street Pike Southampton PA 18966
Tamanend Park, located off Second Street Pike, was part of the William Penn land acquisition of 1683 from Chief Tamanend. In 1975, the Upper Southampton Township and Centennial School District joined to purchase Tamanend Park, part of the former Leedom homestead, for nearly one million dollars. The school district built Klinger Middle School on a portion of the land, while the rest is used for our natural park and recreation areas.
The farmhouse in the park may date back nearly 300 years, while the carriage house dates back to the early 1800s. The carriage house, barn, and spring structures were recently given a historic designation by the Heritage Conservancy of Doylestown, PA. The farmhouse is already on the conservancy's Registry of Historic Places.
Tamanend Park includes a picnic pavilion, building rentals, tennis courts, tot lot, gazebo, gardens, walking trails, softball fields, and picnic tables.
