Ancient Alcohol Tours at Penn Museum

    Penn Museum

    When:
    • Wednesday August 14th 2019, 5:30pm to 7:00pm
    • Wednesday August 28th 2019, 5:30pm to 7:00pm

The "Ancient Alcohol: A Taste of Bygone Booze" tour is now available during select Summer Nights, August 14 and 28. This guided expedition reveals the secrets behind ancient Greek drinking games, Egyptian hieroglyphs that depict alcohol rations for the afterlife, and a taste of the beverage that was served at a feast hosted by King Midas. $20: includes after-hours Museum admission, tour, one 12 oz. Midas Touch, and entry into the Penn Museum's Summer Nights happy hour: a pop-up like no other in the city!

Summer Nights fills the gardens in the cobblestone courtyard with friends taking Insta-worthy photos by the larger-than-life marble fountain, cocktails and conversations, and an all-access passport to the Museum's galleries and exhibitions that explore Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, and more.
