Start the new year with an easy, mindfulness-based movement class taught by KYL/D Education Coordinator Sophie Malin. The class is pay what you wish and proceeds will support the company’s CHI Dance program in the Philadelphia public school system. No previous dance/ movement experience necessary.
The class will infuse elements of Eastern movement philosophies found in Tai chi, yoga, and chi gong, including breathing exercises and movement meditations. Participants learn dance through the lens of mindfulness, a contemplative practice of maintaining a nonjudgmental state of awareness of one’s thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
