Online Class: Marie Cuttoli: The Modern Thread from Miró to Man Ray

    The Barnes Foundation

    Where:
2025 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19130
    When:
    • Wednesday May 6th 2020, 1:00pm to 3:00pm
    • Wednesday May 13th 2020, 1:00pm to 3:00pm
    • Wednesday May 20th 2020, 1:00pm to 3:00pm
    • Wednesday May 27th 2020, 1:00pm to 3:00pm

While our Marie Cuttoli exhibition is on hold, join the show’s curator Cindy Kang as she surveys the career of the pioneering entrepreneur who introduced leading modern artists like Picasso, Miró, Léger, and Man Ray to textiles and tapestry. Trace the cultural and political influences on Cuttoli’s work, which include art deco and the fashion of 1920s Paris, the French colonization of Algeria, and the upheavals of World War II.

We encourage you to watch live, but classes can be streamed anytime after the live session concludes. See our FAQ.

Instructor: Cindy Kang, Associate Curator, the Barnes Foundation.
