Sunday Literacy Program at the Free Library of Philadelphia

    Free Library of Philadelphia

    Sunday March 19th 2017 to Sunday May 21st 2017

    • Sundays

      1:00pm to 2:45pm

      3:00pm to 4:45pm

The Sunday Literacy Program works to ensure that struggling readers in 1st to 3rd grade succeed by helping them reach grade-level reading. In addition to developing literacy games, guided and independent reading activities, as well as writing exercises, the program places elementary school teachers and volunteers in select library locations throughout the city to be available for reading instruction and support.

The Sunday Literacy Program is part of the Free Library of Philadelphia’s larger work as the managing partner of the READ! by 4th campaign, which aims to majorly increase the number of students in Philadelphia entering the 4th grade at reading level by 2020.

The program meets in two separate sessions every Sunday: 1 PM-2:45 PM and 3 PM- 4:45 PM. Registration is required to participate, and you can register on your first visit!
