    Behind the Lion Dance

    Penn Museum

    It is almost impossible to think of Lunar New Year celebrations without visualizing the iconic lion dance. With elaborate costumes, clanging cymbals, and a colorful parade, it’s easy to see why so many love to ring in the new year with this playful traditional dance. Join the Penn Museum for a virtual talk and demonstration showing you how communities around the world bring the lion to life each year.
