  • First Person Arts Festival 2023!

The First Person Arts Festival returns for another year of compelling and personal theater this month! Focusing on personal experiences, social activism and extreme adventure, First Person Arts brings the Festival back for its 21st year in November of 2023.

With a mission of amplifying real, human experiences through the medium of documentary and memoir, First Person Arts is no stranger to unique theater. The Festival is no different: this year will feature influential Philadelphia artists like Kemar Jewel, Felonious Monk and Gabriella Sanchez as headliners. The festival also include nine exciting feature shows. Be prepared for stand-out performances like the live reading of Zora Neale Hurston's Barracoon and Legendary, Kemar Jewel's visual history of ballroom culture, as well as workshops, lecture series and story slams.

It's going to be hard to leave a festival like this without feeling inspired. Share your experiences with us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram @Phillyfunguide!
