One of the greatest joys of the fall season is having an entire month to embrace all things spooky. October is for cider, changing leaves and getting closer to the "other side."

Philadelphia's historical past makes it the perfect place for the supernatural and we have the haunted attractions to prove it! This list is for the haunts and the brave humans who love them. We've got your ultimate guide to in-person and virtual* haunted houses, late-night ghost tours and spooky hayrides galore!

If you just so happen to see a ghost this Hallo-season, send us a picture on TwitterFacebook and Instagram @Phillyfunguide!

Halloween Nights at Eastern State Penitentiary

Fans of Eastern State's previous haunted juggarnaut Terror Behind the Walls have even more reason to celebrate this Halloween season - the return of Halloween Nights! Eastern State retired it's beloved Terror attraction in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and replaced it the followng year with an even more massive festival. Halloween Nights is an immersive experience boasting 15 attractions, live performances, a 3D fun house and several themed bars and lounges, opening up the Penitentiary's full 10-acre property to the public for the first time ever. Halloween Nights runs from September 22, 2023 - November 11, 2023.

    Halloween House

A true haunted house experience for all ages, Halloween House at the Philadelphia Mills mall provides spooky fun with being too scary or uncomfortable. This immersive experience offers four themed rooms (like Vintage 1940s and the Glow in the Dark Room) as well as an indoor pumpkin patch. This attraction is for those who like the fun and asthetics of a haunted house without the scares.

Watson Adventures' Haunted Philadelphia Scavenger Hunt

With all the history here, it's no wonder Philadelphia has a few chilling stories of it's own. Armed with only a flashlight and your wits, join Watson Adventures on a journey through the Washington Square neighborhood to visit the haunted former homes of our Founding Fathers and learn about the haunts who (may) still reside there, like the Burning Bride of City Tavern and many more!
