  • Philly Remembers Prince

On April 21, 2016, the world lost a legend, and arguably, one of the last true megastars of the 21st century (quick - somebody go check in on Beyonce!). Prince Rodgers Nelson was an artist in every sense of the word, with three decades of credits spanning film, music and television. This year, we take a look back on the rich legacy and catalouge of work left behind by the icon (including six new songs released just yesterday). Here at PFG, we've compiled a list of everywhere you can go this weekend to reflect and appreciate the work of a true master artist. Besides, who doesn't love a good excuse to watch Purple Rain again?

Let us know how you're celebrating the life of Prince on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram @Phillyfunguide!

Don't forget to submit your upcoming events to the Phillyfunguide here; you just might get featured in an editorial like this one!

    Purple Rain @ Schmidt's Commons

Head over to the Schmidt's Commons in Northern Liberties to catch a free screening of Purple Rain TONIGHT! Guests will be treated to food and drink specials, but not chairs; this is a BYOC (bring your own chair) event.

Prince & the Evolution Happy Hour

The Trestle Inn will be holding a special happy hour this Friday night dedicated to none other than Prince, his band The Revolution, and his early influences. Swing by for an after work pick-me-up complete with live DJs, go-go dancers and a $7 Raspberry Beret cocktail special!

Prince: The Man and His Music

Underground Arts will be hosting a tribute concert to the late Purple One this Friday night featuring bands OOLALA, Monopop, The Ardvark Felon and more.  This 21+ party will be banging until the early morn, with proceeds benefitting Rock to the Future, an organization that helps underprivledged children find their own musical passion.

    Philly Loves Prince

Johnny Brendas will be throwing an epic party in the name of Prince this Friday with three live DJs spinning jams all night, alongside artwork from 5 local artists!
