  • Experience PHL Music Week!

Philadelphia has always been a great music city: home to Philadelphia International Records, the headquarters of famed music duo Gamble and Huff, Philly has long been a trendsetter and innovator of popular music. This city has birthed music genres, built industry titans like Will Smith and Jill Scott, and is still home to some of the best music venues in the country. It’s time we celebrate the broad musical legacy of the city, and Philadelphia Music Week aims to do just that.

PHL Music Week is a brand new music festival coordinated by the Curtis Institute of Music, the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, and REC Philly, with the goal of showcasing Philadelphia's eclectic music scene. Running from October 15-October 21, 2019, this inaugural festival will include public performances and educational opportunities presented by Philadelphia-area music organizations, venues, and artists -- many of which will be free and open to the public. The week-long festival kicks off at Center City’s Dilworth Park on Tuesday, October 15, 2019! REC Philly artists will join Curtis student musicians for a free outdoor concert from 1pm to 4:30pm after city council announces a resolution honoring Curtis’s 95th anniversary.

Whether you’re on stage or in the audience, you’re invited to the party! Share your participation by following @phlmusicweek on Instagram and using #phlmusicweek on social media and as always, you can connect with the Phillyfunguide on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram @Phillyfunguide!

Do you have a music event coming up? Make sure to submit it to the Phillyfunguide through our submission page, and we'll include it here!
