Support Arts Education Programs When You See The Philadelphia Orchestra

One of the best ways to support the arts is to attend performances accompanied with an incredible mission. On Thursday, March 21 you can do just that by attending Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFCTB) and Arts Montco’s presentation of the world-famous Philadelphia Orchestra at the historic Keswick Theatre. This is a must-see event--not just because this is the first time the Philadelphia Orchestra will play at the Keswick Theatre, or because this year marks Keswick’s 90th anniversary, but because proceeds will be donated to provide arts education programming to public schools in need of support across Montgomery county!

“As strong advocates for the arts, the VFCTB and Arts Montco have a mission to support arts education for future generations of arts enthusiasts who will ensure the continued vibrancy or our arts institutions,” said VFTCB Director of Government & Cultural Affairs, Jessica Willingham.

VFTCB and Arts Montco have partnered with the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU) and Musicopia, to identify the best ways to support art programs in Montgomery County. The MCIU provides services that meet the educational and social service needs of Montgomery County’s 22 public school districts. Musicopia is a nonprofit organization offering educational music enrichment programs in schools and communities throughout the Philadelphia region.

This 90-minute community concert will showcase Montco’s vibrant arts scene and feature a chamber ensemble under the leadership of Philadelphia Orchestra’s Assistant Conductor Kensho Watanabe and will include selections by Greig, Mozart and Tchaikovsky. The Philadelphia Orchestra will also honor Keswick Theatre by playing some of the original works Old York Road Symphony (OYRS) performed during their first Keswick concert. 

There is also an option to See the Philadelphia Orchestra VIP-style, with an exclusive after party at the famous Dino’s Backstage & The Celebrity Room.
