Opera Philadelphia's first-ever Digital Festival continues with We Shall Not Be Moved. The broadcast premiere will take place on WHYY TV-12 (Comcast 812 & FiOs 512) on Sunday, May 10 at 2:00 p.m. The digital stream will premiere on Sunday, May 10 at 7:00 p.m. and will be available for viewing until Monday, August 31.

Named one of the “Best Classical Music Performances of 2017” (New York Times), We Shall Not Be Moved tells the story of five North Philadelphia teen runaways and their confrontation with the local police. A timely exploration of national identity, race, gender, personal responsibility, and the limits of the public education system, the opera rises from the enduring ashes of the May 13, 1985 bombing of the MOVE compound in West Philadelphia, where the teens seek refuge and encounter the ghosts of their city's past.
