    Members of the public are invited to an opening reception with John Dowell in attendance, on Wednesday, October 18, 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Parkway Central Library.

    The Free Library of Philadelphia exceptional exhibition of works by renowned local artist John Dowell, a printmaker, etcher, lithographer and painter runs until Friday, March 1, 2024.

    Spanning two floors of Parkway Central Library, the exhibition features prints and photographs from John Dowell’s life as an artist and teacher, including works by his students, as well as artwork donated to the Free Library by Dowell, including lithographs created at Tamarind Lithography Workshop in the 1960s.

    The library’s events page at freelibrary.org/johndowell will be continuously updated with programs and tours celebrating The Art and Influence of John Dowell.
