This trail is one completed segment of the larger Delaware River Heritage Trail. When completed the Delaware River Heritage Trail will follow the east bank of the Delaware River from D&R Canal in downtown Trenton to the Ben Franklin Bridge in Camden. Currently this segment, between Route 130 in Bordentown and Route 129 in Trenton, is complete and used by pedestrians. A combination of on-road (with walkways) and off-road segments the trail includes the Lock 1 section of the Delaware and Raritan Canal Towpath. Funding is in place to begin design work to extend the path north into downtown Trenton. Another section between Bordentown and Roebling is currently in design and construction could begin in 2017.

The Delaware River Heritage Trail: Bordentown to Trenton is a part of the Circuit Trails, a vast regional network of hundreds of miles of multi-use trails that is growing in size each year. Explore 100s of miles of happy at CircuitTrails.org
