Tyler State Park, located in Newtown, PA, covers over 1,700 acres on the grounds of an old farm in a charming woodland setting. The park features a network of interconnected trails known as the Neshaminy Creek Greenway, including 10.5 miles of paved trails open to cyclists, walkers and in-line skaters and 4 miles of hiking trails. Horseback riders can enjoy over 9 miles of bridle paths that run alongside the scenic Neshaminy Creek, which flows through the property. In winter cross-country skiing is allowed, and in warmer months there are opportunities for fishing and canoeing along the creek.
The trails network through the park is well maintained, over eight feet wide, and feature occasional picnic tables for rest stops. This is hilly terrain, however, so note that trails on the west side of the creek in particular can have some steep inclines.
The Tyler State Park Trails are a part of the Circuit Trails, a vast regional network of hundreds of miles of multi-use trails that is growing in size each year. Explore 100s of miles of happy at CircuitTrails.org.
The trail is open from 8 a.m. to sunset.
