Meet Joseph Plumb Martin, a Continental soldier who remembered one Thanksgiving meal of just rice and vinegar, in special pop-up performances. Plumb Martin was one of thousands of teenaged soldiers in Washington’s Army.
In special take-and-make bags, kids will receive instructions and materials to learn the art of paper-cutting, “scherenschnitte,” brought to America by German immigrants, and create paper decorations inspired by artifacts in the Museum’s collection.
