All events held on-site at the Science History Institute are accessible to people who use wheelchairs and other forms of mobility assistance. A wheelchair-accessible pedestrian gate is available at our parking-lot entrance on 3rd Street between Chestnut and Market Streets. The pedestrian gate is unlocked during regular business hours and for events. If you’re traveling by car, drive up to the parking-lot gate, which will open automatically during regular business hours and events. You may park in any open spot marked “Visitor” or in one of two spots reserved for persons with disabilities. To enter the building, call our receptionist via the intercom at the East Entrance for visitors and staff.
Elevators are located throughout the building and wheelchair accessible restrooms and water fountains are available on each floor.
Service animals are always welcome at Science History Institute events.
When ASL interpreters are already scheduled for an event, it will be noted in the event description. Events held in our Ullyot and Haas conference rooms are equipped with a limited number of assistive listening devices. For more information or to request additional assistance with ASL interpretation, captioning, listening devices, or any other specific needs for joining us, please contact the event organizer at least 5-7 business days before the event.
