Founded by award-winning artistic director Jeri Lynne Johnson, the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra champions ethnic diversity in classical music. Described by the Philadelphia Inquirer as “first class on every level,” the orchestra's musicians have been trained at leading music conservatories, including the Curtis Institute, the Juilliard School, and the Peabody Institute.
Tonight’s performance will spotlight those talents, including principal horn Larry Williams of the Lyric Brass Quintet, and flutist Julietta Curenton, who will be the featured soloist on Mozart’s Flute Concerto no. 2 in D Major. Haydn’s charming Symphony no. 45 in F# minor, The Farewell, will end the evening.
Collection and special exhibition access included.
Cocktails and light fare available for purchase, including shrimp cocktail, mussels and frites, and cheese and fruit with French bread.
