Few monarchs of the Renaissance can rival the overachieving Charles V - Holy Roman Emperor, King of Spain, Lord of the Netherlands, Duke of Burgundy, Head of the House of Hapsburg. His political reach was matched only by his influence on the arts. Piffaro recreates his sumptuous traveling musical establishment, which sparkled with the most notable composers of the day.
This program also celebrates the legacy of two living musicians: Joan Kimball and Bob Wiemken, founders of Piffaro, who will take their final bow at May's concert.
