Quick – name a Polish composer!
Did you say Chopin?
By the time the Romantic pianist was born in 1810, Poland already had a splendid history of over 600 years of written music. Together, Piffaro and the singers of Ensemble Peregrina will resurrect the sounds of Poland’s knights raising their voices before battle, cloistered nuns singing behind convent walls, virtuosic musicians performing their best for royalty at the Polish-Lithuanian court, and the vibrant songs and dances of the Polish people.
This is only the 3rd visit to the U.S. in 20 years for Polish musicologist Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett (“one of today’s best ambassadors of our country” - Ruch Muzyczny) and her award-winning ensemble Peregrina (ECHO-KLASSIC Best a capella Recording 2009). Don’t miss it!
