BCFA, founded in 2006, is a coalition of consumers, farmers, chefs, educators and environmentalists working together to foster and expand a local, sustainable food supply in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. General meetings, open to the public, are held the first Wednesday of the month. A 501(c)(3) public charity, BCFA is supported by donations and a major grant from the Sierra Club. BCFA also manages two markets in 2011: Wrightstown Farmers Market at 2203 Second Street Pike, open every Saturday, 9 - 1, May through November, and Lower Makefield Farmers Market, Edgewood Road at Heacock Road, open every Thursday, 3:30 - 6:30, June through October.
