The Cultural Alliance unites artists and those who care about the arts and culture, to determine common opportunities and issues, and to work collectively on solutions. Special focus is in the areas of marketing, outreach, advertising, communication, audience development, fundraising, venue development, and the role of arts and culture in economic development.
The Cultural Alliance strengthens the community's awareness of the importance of arts and culture and its contributions to the community and to the economy; especially corporate leaders, government officials, audience members and patrons.
The Greater Brandywine Cultural Alliance is in its formative stages. Currently, the Cultural Alliance is a provisional fund of the Chester County Community Foundation, which provides administrative services under its 501(c) (3) charter. The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, located in Center City, has graciously provided a county outreach coordinator to provide ongoing ideas, models, information and resources.
The primary service region is defined by the school districts of Kennett, Avon-Grove, Oxford, Octorara, and Unionville-Chadds Ford. The service region also extends to West Chester and Coatesville due to their proximity, and their association with the "Greater Brandywine" area.
