The Highlands Mansion and Gardens is a 44-acre historic site with a late 18th century Georgian mansion and two-acre formal garden, owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and administered by the Highlands Historical Society. The Highlands Historical Society exists to educate the community about the history and evolution of a Pennsylvania country estate, The Highlands, from 1794 to the present. The legacy of comprehensive period documents detailing estate life form the 18th through the 20th centuries guides the active preservation, restoration, and interpretation of the mansion, gardens, outbuildings, and open space.
