Founded in 2000, Keiyo Soy Ministries (KSM) is a non-denominational 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to confronting the harsh reality that many children and families in the Kerio Valley in Western Kenya live without access to safe drinking water. KSM has long understood this issue and has found solutions that are affordable, achievable, and sustainable, allowing KSM to achieve unprecedented progress in the last ten years. In the Kerio Valley, KSM has constructed the equivalent of an 18-mile pipeline gravity-based system from the mountains to the villages and schools. KSM has also completed three concrete water towers that serve six schools, six villages, and three shopping centers. Additionally, KSM has supplied several schools with water storage tanks and rainwater harvesting systems. Due to KSM’s efforts, over four thousand people now have access to safe drinking water. Supporters and sponsors of KSM range from ambassadors, diplomats, and UN representatives to presidents. In addition to the partnership with local communities and the Africa Inland Mission (AIM) Tech Team, KSM has managed to garner support from the local and national government of Kenya, district engineers, the University of Eldoret, Moi Univesity, and the Philadelphia Global Water Initiative.
