New Media Initiative (NMI) is a multimedia arts collective aimed at the creation of a pulsing and vibrant independent artist community in Philadelphia through re-engaging artists' interest in developing their crafts and forging networks while sparking renewed community interest in supporting local artistry. NMI envisions a world in which independent artists possess sufficient access to the tools and networks enabling them to adequately express ad fine tune their talents, transfer artistic visions into actualities, continue cultural traditions, further define those traditions' aesthetics, integrate with other artistries/artists, document their and their community's concerns, add to postive social change and, thus, expand the dimensions of reality.
