British Invasion Musical Mashup June 13th at Old Swedes

    South Philly Acoustic Jam

929 Water Street Columbus Boulevard and Christian Street Philadelphia PA 19147
    • Saturday June 13th 2020, 1:00pm to 4:00pm

British rock and roll music created by these “over the pond” invaders has been a powerful influence on American musicians, culture and fans for decades. Join us for the British Invasion Mashup, take a seat with the South Philly Acoustic Jam and play British music in an urban “campfire-like” musical style. We provide a unique Mashup culture where everyone sings, many will dance to their favorite song and some will bring a guitar and play from the audience. All is good!

    Two British Invasion Mashup Dates:

Saturday June 13th 1 to 4 PM at the Old Swedes Church, 916 S Swanson St, Philadelphia, PA 19147

Don’t expect a band performance, this is a community party of music and fun focused on the British songs of our generations, British songs that changed American lives, popular songs from the generational almanacs of British cool.

Like the British Music Invasion itself, our Mashup culture will take the room like a storm. Join us and play Beatles, Rolling Stones, Zombies, The Animals, and kick off our “Beat music” sound of British acts. But don’t forget the The Who, The Kinks, and T-Rex; these star-powered groups won over American media and America proclaimed England as the center of the music world.

Our setlist does not stop with the Beats, this Mashup invasion continues the British sound into the 80’s and 90’s with British acts like Culture Club, Elton John and David Bowie. These groups changed fashion and music with outrageous clothes, makeup, hairstyles and platform-soled boots.

Look in the clothes closet, come dressed as you like and join the fun!
