Waterfront Park is located in the capital city of Trenton and is home to the Trenton Thunder, currently the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. After breaking ground in the summer of 1992, the County officially opened Waterfront Park on May 9, 1994 to the then Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. The Thunder has consistently been one of the top organizations in all of Minor League Baseball since its inception twelve years ago. The Thunder has drawn over 400,000 fans in each of the last 11 seasons and welcomed its 5,000,000th fan in the history of the franchise this past season. Both of these are records for Minor League Baseball at the Double A level and below.  Comprised of 3 beautiful acres along the banks of the Delaware River. The South River Walk Park is located in the outfield parking lot above the Route 29 tunnel and the Docks on the Delaware are behind the entrance gates. There are 16 super boxes that have 16 seats apiece with the best views in the ballpark.  The Yankee Club is a restaurant available for groups or parties, that can accommodate up to 100 people. There is a seating capacity of 8,300; including 4,000 parking spots.
